Short Stay Activity Work Visa (Temporary)
This visa allows applicants to travel to Australia for up to three months to either complete short-term, highly specialised, non-ongoing work (usually only up to 6 weeks), participate in non-ongoing cultural or social activities at the invitation of an Australian organisation; or, in very limited circumstances, participate in an activity or work relating to Australia's interests.

Eligibility

• Participate in an event or participate in work which is short term and non-ongoing (i.e. maximum 6 weeks only)
• Have personal attributes or an employment background relevant to the work or activity
• Have enough money to support yourself and your accompanying family members
• Have the support of the organisation for which you will be working

This is a specialised visa required for short work requirements in Australia.

Skilled Work Visa (Temporary)

This visa allows you work in Australia for a nominating employer for up to four years. Once you have found an eligible employer willing to sponsor you, the process of obtaining the visa is relatively quick. Eligible employers include your own business, even where it is a new company setup.

Eligibility

• Be of any age (no age restrictions)
• Be nominated to work in an approved occupation with an approved sponsor/employer
• Meet the skill requirements for the nominated occupation (i.e. work experience, qualifications)
• Meet registration and licensing obligations
• Obtain an IELTS test score of at least 5 in each component

Employment Nomination Scheme (Permanent)

The Employer Nomination Scheme is targeted towards skilled workers who want to work in Australia. This visa involves a two-step process, firstly, nomination by an approved Australian employer and then an application under the nominated stream.

The Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) is a permanent residence visa allowing you to live and work anywhere in Australia for a nominating employer. This visa may be granted via direct entry or via a transitional stream once you have worked in the same position for a nominating employer on a skilled work visa for a minimum of two years.

Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (Permanent)

The Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme visa is targeted towards skilled workers who want to work in regional Australia. This visa requires a nomination by an approved Australian employer, a Regional Certifying Body (RCB) assessment and an application under the nominated stream.

This visa is a permanent residence visa for skilled workers. It allows the applicant to work in Australia under one of three streams:

• The Temporary Residence Transition stream
• The Direct Entry stream
• The Agreement stream

Eligibility

• Have been nominated by an approved Australian employer in regional Australia
• Are under the age of 50 at the time of application, unless exempt
• Have the required skills and qualifications for the position (i.e. mandatory registration, licence, professional membership, or skills assessment)
• Obtain an IELTS test score of at least 6 in each component

The points test is a system by which Australian immigration determines which people will be a positive addition to the Australian workforce. The points are measured by many categories including:

Entitlements for Australian Permanent residents

Once awarded this visa, the applicant becomes an Australian permanent resident. Permanent residents of Australia are able to live in Australia and work in any occupation of their choosing. They are free to study at universities or at vocational training schools. They are also able to receive Australian healthcare, access social security pending a waiting period. Permanent residents are not citizens, but they can apply for citizenship once a permanent resident. Permanent residents are also able to sponsor other people for visas or permanent resident.

The new permanent resident can travel in and out of the country for five years after the visa is finalised. If the visa holder wishes to travel in and out of the country beyond the period of five years, he/she must apply for a Resident Return Visa (RRV) or consider an application for Australian citizenship.
