A guardian can be a nominated person in Australia, or a nominated person from overseas (usually a student’s close family member) who can come to Australia and provide care and support to the child. Guardian visas provide:
The guardian visa must be applied for through the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP). Guardians must also undertake (and pass) a medical examination in their place of residence prior to lodging a visa application. This health examination usually consists of a medical exam, a radiological exam (TB diagnosis) and a HIV test. Guardian applicants may also be required to obtain and hold health insurance coverage and/or provide a character clearance. |

Processing Times – guardian visa applications usually take 2 weeks to 3 months depending on country of citizenship and where the visa application is to be lodged. The timing will also rely on when the corresponding student visa application is finalised. Applying for a guardian visa is a very complex, detailed activity. Therefore, we recommend you utilise our highly experienced visa and migration services. IRAN The guardian visa application must be applied online in or outside Australia. It will be reviewed by the Authorities. A biometrics examination may also be required. A biometrics appointment involves a facial photo and a 10 digit fingerprint scan which is kept on record at the Embassy. The biometrics exam can be undertaken in any UAE country or Gulf Cooperation Council country. As part of our service, Plus Education will assist in the lodgement of the visa application on the guardian’s behalf.
